As some of you know I've remade splatter flag. It's ready to go pending one more test night. We did one already, and it was as fun as always, but i made some changes to improve the experience. Changelist is as follows:
1) Added teleporters top and bottom. There are now 4, and players will come out on top in a more consistent location with where they were at the bottom
2) The new coliseum window pieces caused some player visibility issues. I have added grey walls down the entire length to improve visibility.
3) Added shield doors top and bottom, much like in the old version. This should help prevent scoring on lucky bounces where the flag goes all the way to the attacker spawn. The shield doors will also make it more difficult for attackers to use a stolen hog to block teleporters, causing defenders to flip.
4) Added color. When a player's hog is out of control, or if things are getting crazy during a flag run, there is now some perspective as to player location on the ramp. Color is Green 2/3 of the way down, transitioning to yellow, then to red as players approach the teleports at the bottom.
5) Edited the gametype to allow drivers only. While mongoose road trips are fun, enabling "drivers only" disables hijacking. This means that attackers will have to recover a lost hog to have a blocker, as in the original. This should also refocus gameplay on getting the flag, and away from hijacking whomever splattered you last.
The game will be in my fileshare as soon as it passes at least a 5v5 playtest. I'll be on pretty much every evening, so the sooner we can get a party together, the sooner you can get your grubby little paws on the lols.
