A few notes:

Least shots to deplete shield: 3 from scoped-in light rifle
Fastest speed to deplete shield: Carbine

BR/DMR both 5 hit kill

I keep hearing that because the DMR has a slightly too fast RoF, that it beats the BR even in medium to close range. My own use of it seems to point to this being accurate, but I haven't tested it myself in customs or forge. People have said, after testing it, that it needs like a 3-5% slower RoF and it would be perfect.

I have been playing around with the Light Rifle more because it does seam to kill shields very quickly, so it's nice to see this kind of confirmation that what I was feeling was true.

At this point in Halo's life it's also an intimidation factor. Not everyone has unlocked or is using the light rifle, so it feels strange to get shot by one. I might start running it in matchmaking more.

I feel like the DMR needs some balancing... It's just got too much range and I agree with that slight RoF decrease. It shouldn't be able to out range sniper rifles, which, it quite capably seems to do...

I think light rifle is the best if you zoom in for at least one of your first 3 shots.

I prefer the feel of the BR but it is outclassed by everything.
