So since we have some metalheads here I thought making a thread were everybody can post their favorite bands+songs of their favorite sub genre.I know that not everybody has 5 bands for every genre they're listen too so a top 3 is good too.

Another tip for everybody who is interested in metal and its history I recommend getting the DVD-pack "Evolution of Metal" it's a documentary about the beginning till todays stand of the Metal genre. Alot of interviews with musicians like DIO,Alice Cooper,a KISS member,a SCORPIONS member,a IN FLAMES member and so on.it isn't taht expensive, it was like 30 bucks here.

So I starting off with the oldest one.
HEAVY METAL
I'm not listeng alot to this genre but it still has it's masterpieces and all time classics.

5) BLACK SABBATH
The Irony on this band is that they don't call themselves a Heavy metal band but they're undeniable the pioneers who led to modern metal (together with for example Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple ) , so I count them to Heavy Metal.

Shame on me that I first really got into this band after the movie Iron Man .

4)DIO
He was singer for RAINBOW,Black Sabbath and DIO. Most Black Sabbath songs I listen to have him as a singer so it's just normal that he comes next.He's a great singer and had 3 classic metal albums RAINBOW:Rising, DIO: Holy Diver , Black Sabbath:Heaven and Hell.

3) AC/DC
Not much to say about this band.They're great and one of most well known heavy metal bands ever. Fun facts, you can get an AC/DC Beer here in Germany, I even got one can staying around in my room.One of the Klitschko brothers (Boxer) has Hells Bells as opening theme.

This is a very well known band from Germany, making music since the 80s when they were very succsesfull.
In 2010 they released an album called "Blood of the Nations" which brought them a new hightime, they continued this hightime with the 2012 Album "Stalingrad".

1) IRON MAIDEN !
I would say together with AC/DC and Metallica they are the most known metalband worldwide.They can fill a stadium everywhere.I assume every metalfan heard of "Number of the Beast" before.
Also one of my most favorite bands (that's why they're number 1 here).The figure on every cover is called Eddie.

Really, ther's so many artists that go into som many differet sub-geanras.
Mötorhead still run on stage saying they play Rock'n roll.
