Just have to ask, is it ok if both teams agree to non-hardcore modes? I know most of my friends here dislike hardcore for the most part (we ARE a halo site lol), and i personally would MUCH rather play regular with radar and HUD. Hardcore just means more competitive to me, and this is supposed to be a fun tournament, but i understand we are all in it to win ::flex::

I do but I hate Hardcore so much that I haven't bothered posting in this.

Hardcore just means more competitive to me, and this is supposed to be a fun tournament, but i understand we are all in it to win

HCS&D is the game of choice at TTL and has been since I've been there so that's the reason I'm starting with that gametype. I'll be running another tourney with standard gametype soon. The reason we like HC so much is that, to me, it just has that "realistic" feel from my Army days.... You have to be stealthy and think about what the heck you're doing. Granted, I like standard as well, but since I've been playing HC the last few months I'm hooked..

It is a "fun" tournament. It's just something to pass the time until Reach gets here. I'm by no means telling people to play. If you want to I think it will be fun.....It's competitive in terms of gametype, but trust me....all the TTL guys are in it to have a good times and with everyone being allies there shouldn't be any douchebags....

If you hate HC a whole bunch I guess I would say it's not for you. But if you really don't mind give it a shot...I'm not asking people to play HC exclusively.....one hour for a tourney game and then everyone across the board can go back to standard.

For me, I just like the comradery of playing with other clans, etc....

Thanks guys....
D

So i played Hardcore S and D last night its like the old counters strike, but without the fun
its just camping, not map control, not inventive you only have to kill somebody once so they cant learn from their mistakes and punish you later, if you are "better" than them or have faster reactions you still have no chance of surviving as most guns are one shot, everybody runs silencer and coldblooded pro

its great if your a lone wolf, because call outs are pointless, if you cant counter a threat you cant tell your team as once your dead your silent and if you can the call out is invalid.
the chance of both people surviving and encounter is non existent.

you can either slay or kill everybody, and its tense, man its tense, but its not fun.

just some thoughts can other members have a bash on this play-list let me know what they think.

i prefer respawn gametypes because its about working as a team to lockdown the map and the spawns where as this is just luck on who looks the right way first.

meh

I don't think so because to register on the forums you need to be a clan member of any of the GGN Clans. The only reason you guys are aloud to play in the tourney is because your an ally of an ally.

It's cool......some people just don't like it and probably never will..

I guess it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want the rush of going around and killing for 10 minutes then it's definitely not that...

but without the fun
its just camping, not map control,

I would argue setting up an impenetrable defense front is map control.....camping....meh....that's part of war my friend....real and fake...I'll never understand people's "camping" argument...

its great if your a lone wolf, because call outs are pointless,

Callouts are extremely important in HCS&D....If you have the bomb and don't mention to your team that your going to B and the other members go to A...you're in trouble. If your teammate is planting at A and you see the enemy at B and relay then he knows he has time to plant now....and just knowing where your teammates are killed...
It's not a steady stream of callouts, but it's not the endless madness that is Free For All so there's no need.

you can either slay or kill everybody, and its tense, man its tense, but its not fun.

Yes..you can either win on offense by
A. Planting the bomb
B. Killing the other team

Win on Defense by
A. Defusing the bomb
B. Killing the other team

And yes, it's intense... It's quite the rush when you hear you're the last man standing for your side and you know everyone is watching you.....

not inventive you only have to kill somebody once so they cant learn from their mistakes and punish you later

There are four rounds so I would say you learn from your mistakes rather quickly...

if you cant counter a threat you cant tell your team as once your dead your silent and if you can the call out is invalid.
the chance of both people surviving and encounter is non existent.

That's pretty much the point and lure of HC......it's like "playing war"....when you get shot by a bullet you die....when you die you can't talk....

I refused to play this gametype up until about a month and a half ago.....now I play it nonstop....Free for all or TDM just don't do it for me after diving into this.....and I'm not very good at it at all....

Just my two cents by the way...in terms of defending the gametype...
There are plenty of complaints about S&D that I can understand. It ain't for everyone. But to suggest that a respawn gametype takes more "skill" or that communication isn't important... ummmm......sorry
