Basically what we were doing is the following,
Testing if washing your hands has any effect of killing bacteria,
Running water - Little to no effect
Soap - Some effect
Soap and scrubbing - Increases your chances of infection because you are removing all the dead cells so there is little/no competition for the bacteria.
Disinfectant - Effective at killing most.
(These are the plates with lines down the middle for washed and non-washed).
The other plates are how easily bacteria is spread by shaking hands. We did this up to 7 people, person 1 shakes persons 2 hand, person 2 to person 3 etc... Bacteria still found on persons 7 hand.
Other plate was surface to surface transfer such as picking up paper from a lab then another person picking up that paper etc..
Only picked out some pics,
Yea now you can all eat safe knowing that washing your hands with water for 1minute has no effect which is the same as with soap for 2 minutes When you go to public toilets and wash think how many people must of touched the door handle/tap head.
