Favorite Sequel! (I bet I know what Pirate's going to pick...)

Toy Story 3

While the Lord of the Rings movies are my favorites - I really don't consider them to be more than 1 movie in my head. (In fact, if I watch 1 I watch them all and I have done so in a single sitting 4 or 5 times) No other sequels I can think of carry the emotional impact and overall excellence that was in Toy Story 3. Pixar FTW!

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one Lars. Can't stand seeing one of my favorite authors getting pooped on. Michael Crichton, (who died in 2008), wrote 2 Jurassic Park books - Spielberg made 3 and has plans to make possibly 3 more. ::censored2::

I have Jurassic Park in my DVD collection and it's brilliant. Would buy The Lost World if I could find it on its own. I refuse to own the 3rd; I think it's blatant exploitation. JP3 and any future JP films will likely annoy the Pineapple out of me. If you're into it I'm glad you enjoy yourself - I just can't not say something; it's only because I love the books so much. **Steps off soapbox**

I'm going with the Search for Spock as a sequel to Wrath of Khan. There were a lot of ways this movie could have gone wrong, so many kudos for it not sucking.

I've only seen the 2009 Star Trek movie. I've been thinking for a while that I should try to watch every Star Trek everything sometime.

Dude those are some talented chipmunks. I loved their Beach Boy album. And the Chippettes are HOT! You know the first movie didn't feature the Chippettes. You are really making me question my decision here. On one hand we have Yoda (Frank Oz's hand up a muppetts butt) and on the other hand we have well trained animals that can sing Beyounce songs as good as if not better that Beyounce. Hmmmm. But Empire did have some sick twisted stuff in it (sister on brother action, child abuse from Darth, and Luke discovers he has a sixth sense about seeing dead people) Then there is some awesome Han Solo action (he navigates an astiroid belt, weilds a lightsaber, and pulls a David Blane by freezing his body with carbonite and still living) Nope, sticking with my original decision.
::lol::
Spoiler: show
I mean really, Empire Strikes Back went outside the box of sequalls and defined a lot of modern day seconds. Bird, even your Toy Story 2 ripped off Lucus with the bad guy being the good guy's dad. Oops, spoiler alert.

I think every decade there is a sequall that sticks out as the best of that generation. Terminator 2 in the 90's, The Dark Knight in the 00's, The Avengers in the 10's, and for my generation The Empire Strikes Back in the 80's.

For the record if your a baby boomer, the sequal for you in the 80's was The Color of Money. (Where Paul Newman does something no other actor has ever done, wins an osacar for the same roll twice!

And no, Rocky II was not the sequal of the 70's. The Godfather part II set presidence there my friends.
