Spoiler: show
I don't lie to people in the interviews, but I tend to stick to a positive and optimistic outlook on what we're dealing with. We're facing a lot of crisis and brutal reality isn't always what people need at this time. I wanted to position myself as someone with a sense of purpose, confidence, and direction.
The other arks are missing. A huge portion of our people have been exiled. None of the golden worlds worked out. Our original Pathfinder is dead. The leadership of the Initiative is dead. Now is the time to rally, not focus on how bad things are.
I focused on the solution, not the problem.

Havarl or Voeld
Spoiler: show
I went to Havarl first because I just met the Angara and interjecting myself into their ongoing military conflict with the kett immediately seemed ill-advised. Helping some scientists with Remnant technology on a planet of symbolic importance seemed more realistic of an approach for us immediately, especially since I established a science outpost first.
I also found this was helpful on Voeld as the Angara were a lot nicer to me there because I had already shown I was willing to help them.
