- I forward settled Egypt so hard that I was closer to their capital than I was my own.
- Egypt had a settler of their own one-turn away from settling the spot I took
- I waged war on Egypt to gain access to 4-5 luxuries that they had and in doing so had to fight Amsterdam too. When the war was over Amsterdam's units became permanently stuck behind my borders.
- In the end-game I was sweeping through cities with Redcoats supported by planes and battleships.
- Meanwhile my Civ's culture still hadn't gotten through the medieval era
Spoiler: show - Recruited a Great Scientist. Accidentally walked him right into a barbarian camp without support. Barbarians ignored him and the Great Scientist cleared the camp like a boss.
- Much to Sarge's horror in the end-game I also started sending artists, writers, and musicians to fight barbarians (or in one case, summarily retiring/executing one of them)
In an islands game with Sarge (participating via Stream):
- We were settled on a tiny island that could barely support 3 cities.
- Everybody else was on a single giant continent. "Islands map" my pineapple..
In a fractals game with Sarge (participating via Stream):
- Ghandi was on a desert peninsula. We forward-settled the land that connected it to the continent, dooming Ghandi to a life of irrelevance.
- After letting Ghandi flounder around for a few centuries we decided to eliminate him.
