Leauge of Legends *Discussion*

So since this the most played game in the world at the moment I thought why not make a discussion thread for it.
I know there are quite a few people in this community who play this game. Use this Thread for finding people to play, share your stories or good games. Discuss the LCS and Worlds series. share your hate against Teemo and all sorts of other stuff.

The game is notorious for having a toxic playerbase but in my opinion you find those people in every online game and this isn't a new phenomenon, the problem is everyone has a keyboard and the chat is activated with one click, for XBL you would need to plug in your mic and most people probably don't do that when playing alone. Almost everybody here probably got Rage messages in Halo.Back in the day Warcraft 3 had a public chatroom and oh boy the drama. Sure it's easy to mess up the game for the other 4 as a single person but well.
Duce once said " when I'm new at a game I need tips and not shit from my teammates" I can respect that as a reason not to play LoL.
If you don't have at least 40 minutes to spare you souldn't even start it :P, it's a big time consumer since the matches can go from 20 to 60 minutes.

I personally like it alot, it's strategically and complex and got quite a high learn curve, it also changes a good bit over the year because of patches and reworks on Items and Champoins. You now have access to over 120 different champions to play and every week there are 10 different champions free to play.
I would say I'm average or below average in this game (I got silver 1 in the placement matches) but I have some friends to play with which makes it alot more fun.
My two roles I can play properly are Jungle and support and I enjoy playing tanks the most. Learning toplane at the moment .
Favorite champions would be
Sejuani (the warthog haha)
Nautilus
Leona
& Malphite.

Got no favorite LCS team but I guess i will root for Origin this year (they have to germans in it,,Amazing/PowerOfEvil)

So discuss weeeeeeeeee.

I've been playing League since my hiatus from Halo and console gaming in general now that I have a high-end PC. I've played thousands of League games over the years and I'm really into watching the competitive scene. The community can be pretty bad sometimes but the button is AMAZING. At first I never liked muting team mates because that meant I couldn't communicate, but eventually they added a smart ping system that made it viable.

As for personal preferences, I play every role because I enjoy the variety and like to try new things, but typically in soloqueue I like to play Mid/Jungle (the new queue system and champion pick/ban draft is really cool too imo) or duo bot if I have a partner. I'm floating between Plat 2/3 at the moment but I haven't been playing much in the past couple of months and I wanna hit diamond early this season. I'm also challenger in ranked 3v3s, which isn't nearly as hard as solo/duo or ranked 5s but still pretty cool.

As for teams, I've never been a TSM fan but I think they have a good roster this season. I'm really looking forwards to Immortals, Liquid and Renegades from North America, and Fnatic, Origen and H2K from Europe.

Oh and of course, two of my favorite champs are Vi and Jinx, which explains my forum avatar.

I used to play. I would play support or jungle as well with almost exclusively tanks. I think its a halo player thing to need a tanky character. Braum is my favorite.

I think that's more a thing for Warthogers, we are used to support and live through alot of enemy fire. What I mostly do is playing a duo botlane with my cousin, he's the adc . He also used to be my Gunner in Halo 4 so a bit of the Warthog synergy is still alive.

Fell asleep while watching the NA LCS yesterday haha I only remember a Kindred jungle who got completely destroyed after chasing a Viktor with low health, super funny. One tem was Dignitas I think.

I was a huge league player for a few years, got into high diamond at one point. I played everything, but eventually settled down into mostly Kayle and J4 in all roles, but I played so much for so long, I had a very specific set of champs i had fun with and enjoyed playing, and Riot' rotational meta strategy of continually nerfing them out of viability was infuriating.

As far as pro play goes, I was a huge CLG fan for the first few years but switched over to C9 when CLG started picking up non-NA players. Then C9 did it too.... I find it hard to cheer for a North American team with no players from North America. Most of them cant even speak English, so their streams, interviews, and personalities are lost on me. :/
If you think we're a rolling double kill.. come get it.

Amazon is currently giving away the starter pack with 8 Champions and 2 boost for free for new and old players if yall do not have the champions or is looking to get into league of legends.

I've had my account for a while now and didnt consistently play until about a year ago. Didn't play to much ranked because the level of toxicity that surrounded me (including with friends I play with) is astronomical ::panic:: Now with this new champ select system they added this season I might try to actually try to climb this time around. Imm capable of playing in role/lane but for Solo I prefer Jungle and/or Support.
Neve paid too much attention to the LCS but my favorite streamers arel, Trick2g, Sirchez, Nightblue, Imaqiepie, and FoxDrop

Yeah that's about right Lars xD I find LoL enjoyable from a core gameplay way but I hate the community as I have only found one person who was genuinely ok with me not being the best and willing to help and have fun.

Where as other MOBAS like Guardians of Middle Earth and Smite I find have a more enjoyable fanbase. Smite especially I would play occasionally with Panda when it came to Xbox.

There is a Website that checks how much time you spent playing Leauge of Legends, it's got a fitting name. I'm on 299hours (12days) .
http://wasted-on-lol.com/

Also I want to introduce you to this guy: GundayMonday
Like I said in the OP, Sejuani is my favourite champion, she is a Tanky warthog rider I think this says all. This guy is one of the top Seju players ,ranked somewhere in Diamond and I could learn quite a bit through his guides for Jungling or Seju support which works quite well.
His newest Highlight and his Montage. The Paint pictre thumbnail you see there was created by me :).

he also Streams rather regularely but always late U.S. time so I can rarely watch it.

My experience with this game has been hearing my roommate yelling and smashing his keyboard every time he plays it

Every. Time.
I messed with Duce and got banned. laugh at my expense...

That's pretty accurate tbh, a lot of the people who play League rage a lot. It's hard to avoid them because being anonymous on the internet brings out the worse in people and this games seems to exemplify that. There are nice people who play this game too, but they don't tend to stick out as much because being overwhelmingly positive doesn't have as much of an impact as being overwhelmingly negative. A majority of players are neutral though. I still find myself playing in moderation and taking a lot of breaks from the game. League gets a lot of bad rep for being toxic but it's true in pretty much every game that maintains this many players.

Still, if you mute the ragers and play for fun it's an entertaining game.

your roommate should work on his mental game. You don't hear us throwing controllers when playing solo in warzone and get tripple capped becuase that's also frustrating. It's just easy for 1 peron to ruin a game for the other 4 people but still.

I've known my roommate for like 6 years, he's always been a rager. He's actually calmed down a fair amount since high school
There was one time in HS he punched a hole in his wall

There is the ever-present mute button! That's at least a good thing
And yeah, pretty much every exceedingly large game has a very vocal toxic playerbase
There was Evolve which had a wonderfully cooperative player-base but the game had such a small player-base it basically died

According to Wasted-on-lol, I've spent about 1758 hours on League of Legends which means 73 days of your life. ::panic::

Unfortunately I can attest to throwing my controller at least once during my Halo 3 days. Now that I spend my own money on the stuff, I will never do such a thing lol
