Dragon Age: Inquisition

Mon Jun 24, 2013 10:01 am

Panda and I are definitely excite

Polygon posted an article from a conversation they had with EA about why the game isn't called Dragon Age 3. They gave some complex answers, but for me it sounds like they're doing a mild reboot, knowing the committed fans will buy anyway. Makes sense, though. Dragon Age 2 isn't a direct sequel to Origins.

Please tell me, when the sky split with that green "rip", I wasn't the only one who immediately thought...

"Tyranids!!"

I mean, green sky, green meteors, nasty looking creatures...come on, the Tyranids have invaded Dragon Age.

If so, Pineappling epic ::lol::

YESSS!!!

WE GET TO KEEP OUR SAVES!!!

http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/25/455554 ... nquisition

The decisions made by a player in Dragon Age 2 will carry across to Dragon Age Inquisition, developer BioWare confirmed during a PAX Australia panel captured by GameSpot Australia.

"We know, we are not going to talk about it yet. We know what we want to do. It will absolutely come across, your decisions will carry [across], it will matter," writer Cameron said in response to an audience member's question asking how BioWare is going to take into account players save files across next-generation and current-generation systems. "But yeah, we can't go into details on how it is going to work."

It was also revealed during the panel that BioWare is making changes to the dialogue system in Dragon Age Inquisition seen in its past games but isn't getting rid of it. Inquisition will still contain the moral choice system but the studio will include other elements, besides the player's decisions. Inquisition's dialogue trees will also be influenced by the player's statistics and any companions that are present during a conversation.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is slated for release in fall 2014 on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

It'll be interesting to see what you have to do to port over your save from the 360 to the One.

I'm sad we don't get a chance to go back to the characters from 1 (and even 2), but I'm intrigued.

I think the interesting thing could be interacting with our characters and watching them behave a certain way based on the choices we made.

I'm personally encouraged by the way BioWare keeps reiterating that they want to be decent to new players. I would love to see more fans jump on in this game without being told to go play 100 hours of gameplay, ready four books, and multiple comics. But they've also said they're going to provide a way for cross-platform importing for those of us who know all of this lore and have all of these decisions to incorporate that.

Words cannot fully describe how much I'm looking forward to this game.
