That is a good plan, Oboe. I will let you know firsthand why this game is one we all need to buy.

Also, more videos.

Also uncovered a series yesterday from some fans giving a video introduction to the Dragon Age series.

Here's a link to the rest of the series. They haven't released all of the videos yet.

A few questions for those who have now played quite a bit:

1. Do you have to fill out the online codex thing to get your decisions transferred? How well does that work?

2. Do your decisions actually make a difference?! I mean, in my Dragon Age: Origins Alistair and my character stayed Grey Wardens and ran off to be awesome Grey Wardens together, but all the promo stuff I see with him show him as King.

3. Are you playing as another new character (not from 1 or 2)?

1. Yes you do have to do the online thing (the Keep) to get your decisions transferred. This is because the import utility used in the previous games was broken as hell, and that problem is compounded by the console jump.
The Keep works really well, you can do it on a computer or through the console's browser (I recommend using the console's browser for a better cinematic experience). After you've made all the decisions you can watch a video that retells everything that has happened in your story and export that world state to your game.

2. So far the impact of the decisions made in DA 1 & 2 have been smaller and more personal. Which is arguably a good thing because it means there aren't big moments that are missed on players that haven't played the earlier games, and it allows the game to remain focused on itself.

However, that said the decisions you make in Inquisition itself have a huge impact on the development of the story and where you take it

3. Yes, Inquisition follows the same trend as DA 1 & 2 so you are a new character. However, you will meet and play with many characters from the previous games.

Lastly, I've played half of Origins and all of DA: 2.
For whatever my word is worth I highly, highly recommend this game.
  • The combat is incredibly enjoyable, making the minute-to-minute gameplay fun. They use a blend of the combat in DA: 2 and the combat in DA: 1. You could play the entire game using the tactical system and love it.
  • The smaller quests feel like you're contributing to something larger and meaningful, and the larger quests are even better.
  • The story and decisions that you have to make are Pineappling intense, and there isn't really any "perfect" solution. It comes down to what you feel is right to do
  • And lastly, the companions and characters of the game itself feel and act alive. They're written so well, it's really quite impressive.

UPDATE 11/24:
After 82 hours of gameplay, I have finished my first playthrough.
I messed with Duce and got banned. laugh at my expense...

So far, loving this game. I'm still in the hinterlands, just wandering around and exploring.

Can anyone explain what the point of a rogue is? I get it in a game like Skyrim, where there's actually stealth and stealing and nefarious deeds involved...but here?

Anyway, someone made Daenerys Targaryen in the character creation, and it looks spot-on. Check it out: http://toybox.io9.com/someone-made-daen ... 1662108750
I buy books like some people buy shoes.

Rogues are the only class that can open locked doors. In combat they can stealth and they use either daggers or the bow. They're basically your primary DPS.

To Oboe:

Our decisions have been acknowledged, but their impact matters more to veterans of the franchise. I truly think they've done a wonderful job balancing new players and long time fans. They've avoided some of the annoying small world things they've done in the past. So you won't see Alistair as king if he isn't in your story.

If you want your history respected, go to http://www.dragonagekeep.com. This is how all future importing will work as well. This solves the broken port issue, the cross generational issue, or lost saves. Seriously. New or old. Use the Keep.

DuckE and I finished the game. I clocked in about 110:32 hours. We tried out the multiplayer and it was surprisingly good. However Matchmaking is kinda inconsistent on bringing people in, so we're looking for two more. Any other interested players?

God is real, and it wants us dead: The religious terror of BioWare's biggest games

BioWare has created terrifying universes where creators wish ill of their creation; there are few things I find more terrifying. Fear arises from the unknown — as per Alien: Isolation — but here what's terrifying is based on exactly what is known: God is coming to kill us.

ALL OF LIFE IS TOLD ITS CREATOR WISHES IT TO END

The futility of it, the apparent impossibility of response, would make me numb. I could never understand why Shepard bothered, why she fought so hard and so long to take on what, in retrospect, seems ridiculously overwhelming. I can't understand the point of living in Dragon Age's world where my own Creator wishes me ill.

Not knowing if there is a higher power is preferable to knowing for sure one exists, and that this all-powerful being wants to set fire to everything they created.

BioWare should be recognized for creating some of the most terrifying worlds in gaming. Worlds where the odds, not to mention the deities, are stacked against us.

Holy jeppers. This game is big. I don't think i've played a game before that has felt quite like it. Maybe because I expected it to be more like the Mass Effect games. I can't wait to see what the next instalment of The Elder Scrolls will be able to do with the xbone.

Also, I just learned recently that each character has their own focus ability. !
When I grow up to be a Waterfall, I'm gonna wear a helmet.
