Titanfall

Wed Jun 12, 2013 1:44 pm

Anyone else interested in this?

In addition to enjoying Infinity Ward's previous work and feeling it was besmirched by subsequent work done without the same guys, I just like how they're doing this game.

You get mechs, but they move like foot soldiers.

Gameplay that emphasizes mobility and multiple dimensions.

Gunplay that looks at least as solid as any other game available right now (Slightly unique to the game of course).

And very importantly, experience in the genre.

As a fan of:
Shooters
Vehicle gameplay in shooters
Mech games

It's looking right up my alley.

Gunplay looks pretty forgiving which is a good and bad thing. It's a bad thing because it doesn't take much to master easy-to-use accurate no-recoil guns, but it's a good thing because when people can jetpack wall-run and fly through the air at high speed you kinda need the guns to behave like they belong to the same time period (Very accurate, low-recoil, easy to use). One problem with Halo's gunplay progression is it's gotten more modern with each title, which is dumb because it's a futuristic fantasy shooter. Meanwhile shooters focused on the modern era (CoD, BF3) have incorporated more advanced weaponry, equipment, and tactics than Halo games. I'd give Titanfall's guns more praise, but without playing with them and knowing they look basically like CoD guns, there's just nothing there but standard fare.

Looks amazing, I watched the trailer a few days ago when e3 started and didn't think too much of it but that game play changed my mind.

I loved the run on walls and also the interactions with the mechs, grabbing the other player out of it! and boarding them like a tank looked awesome.

Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?

"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.

"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

I'll most likely get it for the 360 as it will be a while before I buy into the console generation.

Player movement does look fun for this game. I'm still skeptical of the meta dynamics of this game, but it does look like it could be fun.

I'll probably get it on PC unless I decide to buy a console for some exclusives.

Titanfall looks amazing and for those that don't know its releasing on the 360 on the 25th of March. They have already closed open beta for PC and the X-bone but you can check Youtube for some beta gameplay videos.

I'm saving up the money right now to buy the Titanfall Xbox One bundle, which looks to be a fantastic deal.

I'm slowly approaching my 50, and while I loath giving up my unlocks I am enough of an achievement hunter to want to "prestige" at least once. I will NOT go for all 10, so this would probably be my first and only time.

What's everyone else doing once they reach 50?

Staying put. I like my weapons, thank you very much.

The only reason I may eventually Regenerate is when completing challenges quits providing me with burn cards. Then I may do it just to reset those.
