I plan on picking this up once its released. I've seen nothing but good things from this game, I can't wait to give it a shot.

We're having a GameNight for it over on K0P (Kings of Pain), if anyone else is interested in playing with us though, feel free to him me up with a FR.

Here's an article on why you shouldn't buy Brink (yet): link

Thanks for that link, Eurofox. Damn, that's a real bummer. I hear the reviews are all over the place because of it. =( I was gonna hold off on buying it for a month or two anyway (can't afford getting it at launch), but this still makes me sad and does not bode well for the life expectany of the game's online presence..

I guess we'll have to make sure to spread the news that the late post-launch reviews/opinions are the ones that really matter whenever we can. =P I'll be looking out for those..

Well I picked this up today, gave a few Campaign Missions a run through. Haven't attempted Multiplayer yet (I hate playing any game's MM Solo). Based on Campaign though, I enjoy the game.

So far visually the game is gorgeous in campaign, and there is 2 different perspectives to play through (Security Forces - Protect the Ark, and Resistance Forces - Escape the Ark) Pretty diverse weapon selection and all too. You unlock Weapon Mods via "Challenges", which have you playing through a particular scenario and you can get up to 3 Stars, with each Star unlocking one or multiple weapon accessories.

As you get kills and achieve objectives in Campaign you gain EXP which helps you level up. You unlock more weapons/character accessories/outfits based on your level. Customization is pretty in-depth for a FPS.

You have the choice of playing as 4 Players Classes; Soldier, Operative, Engineer, Medic. So far I've noticed no real differences between them other then special abilities. You seem to have the same amount of health, and you can use any weapon with any class. And like how EXP unlocks clothing and stuff, you also gain "Ability Points" which can be spent on upgrading/buying more special abilities for each class.

You can't change class on the fly but you can change at your teams "Command Post", you can also view objectives, and change weapons there.

Ummm thats all I can think of so far for the game. I'd personally give it a 8/10 without any MM at this point. But I will update this once I play some MM later tonight.

I'm going to look at getting it tomorrow, when it's released down here. Thanks for the little run down Yonnor, your high rating for the game so far makes it look promising. ::flex::

“Reviews all over the place”, huh? That’s putting it euphemistically. Most of what I’ve heard ‘n read (IGN, Gamespot, Giantbomb) this game is considerably flawed in a number of ways, mostly technical. Maybe they’ll get that fixed soon with a patch of some kind but otherwise it is really too bad, I had high hopes for it. This was the only title to be released before autumn I might have considered coming out of videogaming hybernation for. I guess I really will see you guys again in september then. Cheers

I'll be getting it tomorrow, despite all the herp-derp reviews that are made by idiots that played the game for about 10 minutes in campaign mode. Most of the bad stuff is just nitpicking anyways.

I like it, it's a fun game.
The problem is that Online play is horrible, and that I can see this getting stale after awhile. The problem is everything is so scripted that each game is just a replay of the last time you were there. I mean, Halo isn't a new inventive game every time but for the most part each one plays differently than the last.
In Brink it's just... the same game each time.

Played this at a friend's last week. It is as I feared: the innovative SMART system, extensive character customization options and funky style are overshadowed by poor online multiplayer experience (nobody uses a mic, no proper lobby system a la Halo or CoD, bad lag) and clunky controls. I had high hopes for this but once again a game with good, refreshing, new ideas fails because it just doesn't get the shooting right (among other things). It's just my opinion, but be sure to try it first before buying it!

I got this when it came out, never actually played competitive multiplayer though. Campaign is fun with friends, but if you don't have anyone to play with then don't get it. The AI is terrible and playing solo is just not an enjoyable experience. Otherwise, I'd say it's worth a try.

Hey got this yesterday after trading in games for preordering a certain game that no one here likes (MW3). I have enjoyed it a little but playing solo is extremely frustrated.. Does anyone still play this and want to run through the campaign together?
