My thoughts on Pacific Rim are... I enjoyed the movie when I first watched it as the usual Mechas vs. Monster fight. I remember you discussing Pacific Rim as a struggle between the upper class and lower class (especially with the building of the walls) and the kaijus physically and literally destroying the upper echelon's protection. So, the only ones who could save them were these lower class pilots in Jaegers. As an actor who studied story a lot, especially for my MFA, I appreciated your take on that and I think you're correct in a lot of ways. I enjoyed Ron Perlman's part in that film too. Pretty intimidating, yet funny guy.
As for XX, no, I haven't listened to it yet. BUT, if I ever find myself on the brink of death or utter boredom, I will listen to it... just for you Sarge. ;D
Gorillars, aye that was me! I was a forum moderator for a time and helped start that up a little bit. I represented Dead Reckoning before making the jump to Master Theory. I did some jumping around before finally landing on IFx (Iron Fox) before I retired in 2012. Good to see you again.
"Awwwww, "Ruff", just the way your mother likes it, Trebek!"
