My gunner and I usually go in alone too. I'll play with you though. We're off topic though, which is often times frowned upon.

True.

So, back on topic, I honestly think that you should avoid doing nose downs unless you see no other option. Too many times it backfires for me, resulting in both hogs blowing up, or us going no shields and killing their hog, but ending up killed by massed BR fire afterward. So, while it is useful if executed properly, it isn't the most reliable thing I've found.

The Nose Down has really been failing me (haven't played in a week, but on my last Hog run) there was a lot of explosions and then I'd randomly die leaving my gunner alone and weird stuff.

Can't remember who I was gunning for but the nose down was not being very effective and I still consider other options to be more reliable as my lag seems to mess this up.
I will only ever use the nose down if it's the last remaining option such as a hog of three on rats nest charging towards me.

had my first nose down yesterday! It's exciting. I usually do try to avoid them as well, but it was rat's nest and both hogs were coming head-on :(. Right after the nose down i got a nice jack n smack too, within 10 seconds. I have the clip saved! My first.

Bumping old tactical threads I don't want lost. Please don't post any thread necromancy crap. Consumed is working on the tacital forums, and I don't want some of the threads lost in the mess.

As a gunner I dont like the nose down method. If you think or you can out-gun the other hogs gunner, because as RJ said it sends the hogs into wheelies and the gunner loses his angle of the other gunner or groundpounders shooting at him. Then if it makes the whole hog one-shot a groundpounder can put a few br fire into the hog then you die...

But the nose down method is very affective agianst ghost, mongooses, low flying banshies or hornets and if your lucky choppers that are not paying attention. ::hog::

When out of ammo i find it better to use mi rocks! ( Like the STON3s you find on the ground not Rockets) C what ive done there?

I always go for a nose down if I can, because a lot of people don't expect it. If your going faster or you have GPs watching you should definitely go for it.
