If they don't play ranked they won't have maximised such skills and therefore will not be as good.

People can play the game for fun. I do aswell. Just my view of fun is competitive gaming with high stakes and clutch situations. If anyone here has been to a (competitive) LAN they will know what I mean.

Now that just isn't true. Apart from MLG, ranked really doesn't do much to help your game. Some of the best people I know haven't played ranked in ages.

I do agree on your second point on fun and competition not being mutual.

Got a funny voice message from him after that, too. I don't really care about 5 stars. I've seen Brigs with 10k+ exp that are better than some 5 star generals. That being said, I also know some really good 5 star generals. In short, rank means nothing.

Most Generals that whore social are bad. It's a fact. However, trying super hard in social doesn't equate to being good. Any general who has a 50, and plays on it (except swat) has respect from me, because they can play at the highest level of their faviorite playlist where they have dedicated the most time.

Social means nothing. And someones performance, whether they are a 50 or a staff captain should not be judged upon it.

Some people might see it that way but there's others that only play for fun and not overly competitive. So to them social means just as much as rank does to people that play MLG or TS.
Again trying hard in social against another team trying equally as hard with a few people doing better than most of the other players on both teams would be a good performance. So in their eyes that player would be good.

Trying super hard in TS at 50 doesn't equate to being good in the eyes of MLG pro's.

Ok I'll break it down more for you -_-

You say social means nothing.
So MLG pro's will see every other playlist meaning nothing as it isn't built for being uber competitive. However the other ranked players playing doubles,lone wolfs, squad it means something to them just as much as social means something to those playing it...

Oh, and Hippo, so you don't respect me for not playing on my TS or TD 50's? What does one have to prove? Even if I played, anyone that knows me would still se me as bad, because I didn't spend over 9000 ranked games to get my 50. Ranked in this game doesn't mean sh­iz anymore, I don't see why people makes a fuzz about it.
