None have been canonically confirmed but besides the fan art (which of course anyone can express what they want when they draw) the general consensus of the fan base is that a majority of the characters (mostly the females) are bisexual with maybe one or two characters being gay or lesbian. Blizzard confirmed they will definitely have one gay character and a number representing the LGBTQ community (aka a few will be bisexual and someone being pansexual) but they haven't said who yet.

However there are other aspects of characters that are confirmed such as Symmetra being autistic.

Apparently some popular pairs are McCree & Genji and Pharah & Mercy. I have no clue what the reasoning for the pairs is but some funny/cute fanarts/comics pop up on the subreddit all the time. There's also ones of 76 and Mercy acting like parents taking care of other heroes.

Honestly Blizzard has done an amazing job IMO with really making these characters unique and interesting, especially when all the in-game mediums for lore are essentially just quick snippets of dialogue. The cinematics help a lot, of course, but blizzard cinematics have always been top notch.

EDIT: Also, I have been playing SUPER casually on PC, and still placed rank 61, which is apparently still in the top ~5% of players on PC. I've found that playing in 3/4 mans is ideal for ranking up, as anything less leaves you with not enough players to consistently perform everything you need in-game and anything more means you will match 6 man teams more frequently (which needless to say are sometimes difficult to deal with without a full party). You can always gamble with searching 6 man but you essentially just have to be better than the other party all the time, which quickly becomes difficult because the higher your rank the less 6 mans there are, and the ones that are left are really good.

I also have decided to be a Mercy main, because I'm really good at being aware of where everyone on the map is. Situational awareness is pretty much the only skill you need as a Mercy player, 5/7 would recommend.

Pharah and Mercy because not only do they play well together in game but you get a great shipping name with Pharmercy.

McRee gets shipped with Hanzo and Genjii a lot. Genjii gets a good pairing with Zenyatta as they are student and teacher. Mercy and Soldier 76 are seen as the mum and dad over everyone Mercy because she's the healer and S76 because he's old and he's one of the leaders
of Overwatch. D.Va is the gremlin child that lives of Doritos and Mountinn Dew streaming her matches. Junkrat and Roadhog are the terrible duo who ride the highway together.

And there are a bunch of other head cannons people have but those are some of the most popular and accepted.

I've started maining other heroes more as a large majority people have started playing mercy. We have a bunch in the wheelmen that main her. So I've been playing other heroes a lot more.

That's a good point about all the Mercy mains we have around here, we're all just too motherly :^) (I also knew about PharMercy, really clever lol)

I have a single game of Reaper played in ranked and so my average eliminations per game for Reaper is 60. Don't know if I can keep that one up lol.

Reaper76 is probably my favorite, followed by McHanzo and Widowtracer. I also love Edgelord Dad and Hot Topic Dad stories. No I did not write a fanfic about Soldier 76 being a dad to Lucio what are you talking about why would I do that

Yeah I assumed it would mostly be peoples fanfiction of the characters but if Blizzard themselves have said they will be making them diverse I don't mind it at all. The character I would say is my main would be Junkrat, me and Adam are having a lot of fun just blowing shit up as him but a close second for me is Lucio for dat wall ride.

So...it bothers you that fans write about non-canon LGBT characters? Because you said if Blizzard made them LGBT, then you wouldn't mind.

I thought this thread might turn into people talking about basic meta or building nice balanced comps. I guess not.
