Spawns

Just a quick question about spawns. I got told you only need to place one Starting Spawn per base, One player will spawn on that and the rest of the team will spawn on the normal spawns. Then I was reading a post over at Forgehub and it said place more than one Starting Spawn.

I'm a little confused now, Can someone clear this up for me?

One starting point has always worked with me, so just go with one :)

Yes. One starting point and then the one guy there forces his teammates to spawn there by his presence

Just make sure you have enough spawns around the Starting Point facing the right direction other wise a few unlucky starters could be facing left or right or backwards relative to the starting point/other base. Its not a problem with most maps but a few of the multi-leveled ones that I've seen on Sandbox have spawns on the 2nd floor that are closer than some spawns on the 1st or vice versa so if a bigger team tried to play a small to midsized map (Say 8v8 Guardian) the spawns would be very odd indeed and would take some getting used to.

Forgehub might've also meant for gametypes using more than 2 teams like Rocket Race or a FFA. Many times if there are not enough Neutral Team Starting points players will spawn beside each other at the beginning shouting "spawn fail" cursing at whoever spawned RIGHT behind them. They really stress Completing all maps so that even if its DESIGNED for CTF from the ground up you can still play One Bomb or VIP or Slayer and all the spawns will work, the bomb doesn't spawn inside a box, or what-have-you. $.02
