It was made with BTB.net settings in mind, but will probably support TU matchmaking settings at some point.
Spoiler: show
Map Name: Topology
Canvas Map: Montana, Forge World
Last Updated: Feb 11th 2012
Status: The content/layout/timers of spawns/weapons/vehicles/AAs need to be properly tested and probably tweaked a bit (weapons and their timers in particular), but otherwise it's a finished map.
Ideal Player Count: 12-16
Budget Remaining: about $150 =(((
Overall framerate performance: Unknown. Only framerate problems I've noticed have been in forge when flying above the map and having a lot of other parts of forge world in view simultaneously, which isn't gonna happen in-game.
Best Gametypes: One Flag, One Bomb (Team Slayer have potential to be good)
Supported Gametypes: Team Slayer, One Flag, One Bomb, Territories (could support King of the hill and other gametypes in the future)
Description: A mid-sized asymmetrical BTB map slightly inspired by maps like Headlong and Zanzibar with major elevation changes throughout. A large factory-like structure dominates the middle of the map, acting as the point of attack in 1-sided games, while roads of the extra wide variety form slopes with varying degrees of inclination to make up the circumference. The attackers get a home base as well; a smaller, less fortified structure located unusually close to the objective.
Screenshots:
Sprint jump to silo catwalks and tunnel entrance to red base
Backyard and hill platform
Red Corner
Rocket spawn and front of red base
Rocket spawn different angle
Yellow side
Top yellow
Bottom green, red base and bridge
Blue base (note the health pack inside the base)
Blue climb, green corner and top green
Red climb and backyard
Pyramid/bottom yellow
Inside red garage/tunnel and grav lift to second floor
Blue base overview
Overview pics (click for HUGENESS):
Note: there are no spawns or weapons on the top floor of red base (which is where the flag spawns). All the stuff in there is either at the bottom of the lift or on the main (2nd) floor.
Weapons
Killzones:
The killzones on this map are unforgiving but fair. There are soft killzones at the top of Yellow Hut (where the focus rifle spawn) and on the inclines leading to the top of the windows at green corner, but other areas where jetpacking might look like an option - the top of all round structures (silos), the roof of red base and some spots along the edge of the map - use hard killzones exclusively. The top of the pyramid at bottom yellow is OK to stand on top tho (it doesn't have any kind of killzone covering it).
