HWM vs. SIK

So, earlier tonight we ran into a group of guys with SIK tags. Our party of 5 played their party of 6. We played them on Spire and we won 3-2.
Game Link
According to BK, these guys recognized who we were before the game started. I did some researching on these guys, and apparently SIK Crazy is #1 on HC for Invasion General Halo Charts Score (GHCS), and the rest of these guys were 5-star generals in Halo 3. Many of these guys also had BTB 4-stars or higher in Halo 3.
We start off on defense, and I will tell you plainly that these guys knew how to time their pushes on offense. They always attacked at the same time, which allowed others to flank because they messed up our lanes of fire. Off the break, they all pushed Alpha. We managed to keep them out, but they kept three guys alive in the pipes for a long time. During this period, two of their guys jumped on top of the Bravo cave and managed to take out me and BK on the Bravo side of things. Their guys in junkyard tied up our middle guys while 4+ Spartans pushed into Bravo to take Tier 1.
During Tier 2, we managed to hold them off for most of the tier, but their sniper kept our numbers down, and a rocket guy managed to lock down Bravo side with the help of their sniper late in the tier to push on to tier 3. At Tier 3, despite having our Banshee, they threw the core off in the worst place possible and it landed in our crater spawn. We chose not to return the core, and they chose to run multiple vehicles and not push for the objective. After a rough round, we hold them to just 2 points.
On our offensive round, we manage to capitalize on their uncoordinated, aggressive slaying to capture territories on them. Black Knight and I spawned on the cliff side and managed to win most of our fights on that side. They pushed us aggressively into the cave, and after winning a few fights, we managed to get 4 Spartans into Bravo and capture Tier 1.
During the early stages of Tier 2, they did an excellent job keeping us off the Spire, but we pushed our BFG and Ridge Road team with rockets and snipers over the BFG Trail, and with some solid sniping from Black Knight, managed to capture Bravo. I lifted up immediately at Tier 3 (shotgunning one of them in the head on the way up)and got to the core before any of the Elites could stop me. I tossed the core off in a good spot. Black Knight managed to steal their Banshee from them, and with some Banshee and Falcon cover, we managed to successfully capture the core.
After the game, I heard a few jokes in the lobby like "Is HWM a 49 and under clan?" but I said good game and they backed out. All-in-all I am very impressed with the way we played in a tough match. We kept our cool throughout the entire game, despite the fact that we spent parts of it getting rolled over. We executed our strategies well, and despite having a random, scored the core when they didn't.
Thus, Halo 3 rank means nothing anymore. Four brig gens, another brig, and a random Major (by halo 3 ranks) beat a team of 5-stars who all had BTB 4-star or 5-star playlist generals.
Go HWM!!!
