Summer Halo?

Mon May 23, 2016 8:37 am

I'm leaving this thread open for anyone to post about what they want to do with Halo this summer.

Please post here to let us know what your current Halo play time is like, whether you're burning out, etc.

Also, if you have event ideas, please post them as well.

Regarding our current events:

I do think I'll be changing or modifying Mastery Monday. Instead of generating film for an hour or so, I may lead the event by showing people a game or two from the past week now that everyone can bookmark someone else's film. We'll watch those two games and then play for the duration.

I'll keep Wheelmen Wednesday as our primary play day for Warzone.

I'm thinking of keeping Friday as something like "Freeform Friday" where we put together a non-tryhard lobby.

Currently being consumed by an insatiable bloodlust and driven by an undying urge to win. More is better for me. However, I'm not against playing casually either. More fun events would be cool too.

Maybe my Tuesday night think also becomes relaxed and wing it. I've had some feedback that people like that from time to time .

I was thinking of some kind of throwback lobby for halo reach stuff. Obviously I wasn't around back then, but it's something I'm definitely interested in learning and playing if certain Sarge flavored well tenured people would be willing to teach for a time

With Elsa's girls off school, we'll be camping and doing outdoorsy things on the weekends more. I also just signed up to drive for Lyft (pending background checks). We're going to make a point to try and make the D&D sessions, but my Halo time will be sporadic at best for the next few months.

I've got some travel plans in the summer, but none written in stone yet. I'll most likely will still be playing weekdays, and I'll definitely post if I wont be around that week or something.

My work schedule may have given me the shaft when it comes to playing on the weekdays. I will now be working 6 to 9 in the morning and 3 to 6 in the evening PST,
So it looks like I will be available for Euro lobbies and then late night EST.
I do not sponsor recruits for clan status

I think summer is a great time for our serious folks to concentrate on streaming. Anytime we have an HWM party going, the Halowheelmen stream should be up.

My day job changed to a regular monday-friday 8-4 job, so unless I have a gig I will have evenings and weekends starting after I get back from RTX in July. So I'm excited to get Halo with more people who I havent seen in a while!
This sig available for rent.

My schedule will stay as it is, as well. Might take a week or so off at some point during the summer. And I signed up for the Friday night D&D thing, so I might not participate in the early part of the freeform Fridays thing.

I'm with timmy. I want to get the helljumpers running again, and to win.

I'm gonna brew some more ideas for my summer camp. Keep people nice and warmed up for the main lobbies.

I'm going to be completing my Master's thesis this summer so my playtime will not be very large, also Halo is just not currently as fun as it used to be for me so I don't anticipate playing that much, I will try to stop by a lobby or two each week still however

All depends on my situation. I do know that I will be working a LOT of hours b/t two jobs. I have a steady AM job teaching Pre-K (8-12:30) and we will be doing a TON of work at my other job (Inventory + major, 6-week whole store remodel) PLUS the potential of either starting a new teaching job or moving away. I may consider working with my boss and working more steady hours during the week (e.g., defined days) instead of filling in everywhere, which I currently do.

THAT BEING SAID, I'm totally down to Halo in any downtime that I have, and I love the idea for Mastery Monday. It is more cohesive and facilitates sharing expectations, ideas, and just in general communicating the meta.
