Make damage bleed to health through shields possible.

Make reticle bloom configurable.

Modify Armor Lock.
• Sticky grenade will not be nullified if you use Armor Lock after being stuck.
• Damage received while in Armor Lock is transferred to remaining Armor Ability energy.
• How much the damage depletes your Armor Lock energy is configurable.

Modify Active Camo.
• Reduce the bonus time the player gets in Active Camo while standing still.
• Reduce the overall length of time the player can be in Active Camo.

Remove Sword block.
• Disable the ability to block Sword attacks using melee with anything other than another Sword.

Implement the classic Magnum from Halo: CE.

Enable playing Co-Op Campaign and Firefight without requiring a HDD.

Bleed through to shields - will completely change gameplay. Not totally against it, but will have to learn how to play all over again.

Reticule bloom - Please dont get rid of this. I can finally go 1v1 in reach unlike halo 3. After the TU, i expect to be cut down before i know where i'm being shot from ala halo 3 multiplayer. Maybe even moreso with hitscan.

Armor lock - There is nothing wrong with it. Its annoying sometimes, but all it does is delay the inevitable. If you are going to make it where you can't stop stickies, and you still take damage, just get rid of the ability all together. It will be useless.

Less camo time - SERIOUSLY? It is WAY underpowered now and the least used ability. It needs a BOOST.

Stop sword block - About freakin time. Messed up you can deflect a one person kill melee weapon with any hit, but the gravity hammer is a area effect melee weapon you can kill multiple people with one swing but can't be blocked.

I hear this complaint all the time. I see no difference in nades between halo 3 and reach.

halo 3 = 2 nades to kill
halo reach = 2 nades to kill

They are equal in power. There might be an issue with range of damage, but i haven't really noticed.

Hey, why is Headlong (a Halo 2 map) included in the anniversary edition of Halo 1?

Wheels wants his Danger Canyon or Death Island.

In my oppinion they were overpowered in halo 3, not on big maps, but on small ones where people learned the angles and could nade you effectively off spawn.

Also if you have slightly less than full health but full shields I think it only takes 1 grenade to kill you.

The current Gauss hog can shoot through an infinite number of walls. It cant shoot through rocks, but shooting through structures is ridiculous enough.

Wheels grenades are stronger in Reach...

*In Halo 3 under no circumstances would 1 frag grenade kill you in Reach you can be at full shields and low health and one grenade can kill you.
*In reach you move slower and your jump height is lower this means that's it's difficult to avoid grenades unlike halo 3 which makes the grenades in Reach stronger.
*Another point is that grenades in Reach work differently compared to Halo 3 in that the damage output relative to the distance of the grenade (radius) is greater in Reach than Halo 3.

So the answer is grenades are stronger in Reach.

As for armourlock you can still stop stickies if you're not stuck but if you get stuck you're dead. You should use armourlock to avoid being stuck rather than using it after you've been stuck.

Watch this for the title update changes discussed by the panel

Another panel were armourlock is mentioned

Re: Some news from 343i

Tue Aug 30, 2011 1:06 am

I was at PAX. I spent a very large amount of time at the Halofest portion of it, and much of THAT time playing lots of Reach. Lots and lots of Title Updated Reach. I am still recovering from the whole PAX weekend, and played many games in loud rooms against randoms and never being able to do callouts with teammates. Also I kept getting achivements. Whoops.

So take all I'm about to say as only my opinion.

THE MAPS:

The Timberland remake: Only available as BTB. When filled with randoms whoever ran the ghost got most of the kills as without teamfire that thing is a splatter machine. A good hog team and ground pounders on top of hills would destroy on that map. Really nice cover but still a large enough map to make a hog reasonable. I found it a lot of fun to play on, but visually looked like a lot of Forgeworld maps which turned some people off.

The Damnation remake: Ice and snow everywhere give it a unique look but might make callouts difficult just from visual cues. Really tight corridors and one big open center area ment everyone either was camping corners or jetpacking up the middle. A good pistol or DMR usually won the day, and as most cases height was the most important advantage.

The Prisoner remake: Lots of really long sightlines, a snipers dream. Getting the sniper is a bit of a challenge when faced with a well organized team. The covenant setting has a lot of flare and style. Teleporters are camp fests.

The Beaver Creek/Battle Creek remake: Looks and plays VERY similar to Halo 2 Beaver Creek. Visuals are almost identical, but much more rich. A few small changes...there are symetrical paths leading from OS or Invis out back and around to the corresponding side ramps leading to sniper, so more options for people goin down low to go for those powerups. Also there are grav lifts to offer not just a third way to get on top of the bases but from the BACK of the base. Weapons are mostly the same but there is a grenade launcher on the top of each base.

Installation 04 - It's the new map, based on a few outdoor campaign settings, specifically for Firefight. A smaller map, one forerunner structure in the middle that would be flanked by dropships. At the event there were 2 AI ODSTs on the base that would basically protect the top of the base. Pretty map.

THE TITLE UPDATE:

I played with a variety of new settings, from full title update to just some things changed. If I let my personal feelings get in the way of being objective I'm not liking a lot of the changes. I've learned how to time my shots effectively and use crouch to steady my aim. Without bloom that is useless and spammers win. I feel that the criticism of bloom = spammers win will be proven false when the bloom is removed, as now spammers ALWAYS win as it's only about speed instead of smarts.

Honestly it really only affects the DMR. Lower caliber weapons (pistol and AR) were spam weapons to begin with where shot timing isn't as important. Higher cadliber weapons (snipers) you can't fire faster then the bloom retracts and thus no timing is changed.

Movement speed is different, a bit slower and in some cases actually felt sluggish. I didn't feel any changes to grenades though many are detailed. Also Armor Lock was no different, though I never actually played with it. I did see someone armor lock to remove a sticky, however it might not have been a game with full title update.

The hog felt exactly the same, both gunning and driving. However I'm a ground pounder so take that as you will.

In the end it's going to become a playstyle preference. Like those who prefer to play MLG or SWAT to "vanilla" matchmaking, people will prefer a classic or updated playstyle. And it sounds like there will be playlists for both. The most important thing if you really care about the changes is to get the maps so you can play in the Beta. There was a HUGE push to tell people to play the beta and voice their opinions on the Waypoint forums of what you like and why. There were cards at every station reminding people about it, and every panel I saw made that clear.

And with that....collapse time... ::side::
This sig available for rent.

Movement speed is different, a bit slower

That's the opposite of what they should be doing and if it's true grenades are going to be even more deadly. It's also going to affect strafing making it even less important now.

Ughhh.... All I wanted for a bloom fix was that if you spammed the bloom would become wider but if you paced your shots it would reset faster. It seems the only things they truly fixed are melee bleed through, sword block and armourlock. However those are some of the things which annoyed me most so I will enjoy this title update (hopefully), if not I'll be moving onto Gears or BF3.

It should no longer be called DMR spamming since there is no random spread from the bloom. All there is now is how well you aim, team shoot, awareness, strafe and so on. Was it BR spam when you lost a 1v1 fight in Halo 3 and 2? No, the enemy had better aim, and strafe. But unlike those games, Reach has far better net-coding which minimizes the host advantage.

The time has come, and so have I
