This actually works. At first I thought it was going to be some elaborate April fools joke by Bungie but we tested this out tonight and it worked.

It's elites vs spartans and you play in monitor mode then fly towards the piece you want and you will warp into it once you stop moving. So now you move in first person and hills will appear on the board of the possible locations you can choose from. If theres an enemy in one of those locations you can kill them.

You can join with a party but only one person on each team will be able to move the pieces but if you mute the other team it could be a team game I guess.

SO much fun and a great mini game. Like I've said before matchmaking might be kind of bad at times but what Bungie can do with forge and custom game settings is amazing.

Things to Note:
Make sure you increase the time for the game as 15minutes is too short.

Love it.

One problem though is you don't have to take a piece's spot on the board to kill it. This lead to rook sniping from across the chessboard, lol.

When I saw this I totally wanted to try it out, are you going to play it again BK?

I just played Apathy and destroyed him. He ended the game before I could slaughter his king.

Then, Azn decided to face me, and refused to end the game AFTER I killed his king until I eliminated all of his pieces.

I am currently 2-0.

I wouldn't mind a game for the lulz if anyone has it.

If I might : don't play it in splitscreen ; when I read this post, I've forced my girl to test it with me, but all the "markers" on the head of all the pawns etc. is just horrible when you've got only a little square of the screen

Nonetheless, it's still really cool to have the possibility to play it peacefully after a "too long raging horrible-matchmaking" session

So Azn demanded a rematch this week. I naturally obliged, allowing him the chance to defend his honor.

Game 1: I spawn as the black pieces, and I move a pawn, and then my queen, and then only use the queen for the rest of the game to destroy Azn.

Game 2: Azn puts up a better fight, and I actually had to kill all of his pieces before I could put him in checkmate with a rook and a queen.

Still undefeated.




However! I noticed that the board is set up improperly today. The kings are on the same space (have line of sight on each other). Unless I'm mistaken, that's wrong.

But I remember the turn timer can go as low as 10 seconds. C'mon, Speed Chess, you'll love it!

How about 1 round of regular Chess and 1 round of Speed Chess?
