Shawshank Redemption was an excellent movie.

Legendary Cowboy! Looks like a good read Smith.

I've been reading a lot of in-game Oblivion books lately, they're quite fascinating. In fact, Bethesda has teamed up with some Star Wars author, and 2 novels set in the Elder Scrolls universe will be released early 2011. Yay!

For about the last year or so I have been reading the Enders Game series. I am currently on book 7 (of 8) of the original series then after I am going to go back and read the other book that OSC released that is ment to tie the first and second book together.

If you have not read these books I would really recomend them. The first book Enders Game can seem a bit childish if you don't really think into it but it is actually a very complex and well writen book. So don't get put off because it is from the persective of someone so young read it and you will be amazed (and sucked into the series) deffinatly some of my favorite books I have ever read ::thumbs:: .

Btw related to reading does anyone els have Kindle? (I personally love mine got my dads old one when he got his ipad) now I far perfer it to a normal book, only problem I have is that I have the first gen one and the page turns take so long I think they take like .5 seconds or something which doesnt sound like alot but when you are using it and at a really good part that you are flying through it seems to take forever to turn the page lol

im the only serious face here :(

i did enjoy the dark materials series, almost cried at the last one.

Harry Potter is an easy to read series, standard boy hero story with lots of little details that make it very accessible. i enjoyed it.

Just finished two books dealing with Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs:

"No Angel" is a non-fiction story about an ATF agent who attempted to infiltrate the Hells Angeles. Good read.

"Honor Few. Fear None" by the former president of the Mongols Motorcycle Club. Very interesting.

I read "Under and Alone" a while ago, it dealt with an ATF agent who infiltrated the Mongols. It's interesting how certain events in all three books intersect and tie into each other. All three authors were in Laughlin during the shootout between the Hells Angels and the Mongols.

Toto, Ender's Game is one of my favourite series. Do you like the Ender continuation books, or the Shadow ones? Personally, the Shadow ones were more exciting because Bean is so smart and I loved reading about him.

I've been wondering about ebook readers... I mean, I absolutely love reading, but since I also collect books, it seems kind of counter-productive to get a reader. If only, when I bought a book, it could give me the e-version, if I had proof of buying the original. The concept of having multiple books in such a small device is very appealling, especially for travel.

Gorillars and Pilot, did Warhammer 40K start out as an RPG or as books? I've seen it a lot in stores.

Tycho, that's scary. Poor Laughlin... He had three guys in him and they all got shot dead. :|

I finished A Game of Thrones on vacation, and it was sooooooo good! I'm reading the second one now, and I can tell it's going to be one of my favourite series.
Spoiler: show
What I love most is how the bad guys can win. Good guys die, and their schemes all go to shit as they are betrayed and the bad guys capture them. It feels so "real"!

I know what I'll be reading in about a week.... Textbooks.... ::cry::

Euro, you should update your last post with a spoiler box on the Game of Thrones paragraph. That's not something I'd tell a friend who hasn't read it yet. Glad you liked it though! Personally, my favorite book of the 4 out now is Storm of Swords, #3.

I think you've yet to really appreciate the series for what it truly is.... I'll leave it at that.

I see what you mean. It's all I've ever heard about GRRM, but I'll put it in spoilers just in case.

I'm so excited for the HBO series now! The series isn't very magic-heavy, it's a lot more about knights, swords and the royal court, etc. Do you know if GRRM is working on the series, at least with the writers?

I liked some of the Mechwarrior books. As far as fantasy goes, there was a trilogy called the Forgotten Realm: Year of the Rogue Dragons. Now THAT was a good series. I wish they'd have done continuation books.

Sci-Fi for me is the main storyline Star Wars books, just waiting on the newest one that isn't out 'till december 7th. Also, the halo books I've read (some several times, actually now, most of them at least twice). Some Star Trek, but not that much. I just never got into those books. Another really good series that I'm reading is called "The Vampire Earth". And no, it's actually got nothing to do with vampires or twilight (/me cringes at the thought or pussy vampires), but rather soul sucking aliens that have pretty much taken over the universe and the rebel's epic struggle against them. The series follows the main character who is named David Valentine. Anyways, really good book, and that what I'm currently reading, the most recent one.

I'd say that in total, I've read something like 80 to 120 books since grade 7 when I started reading (I'm just going to be starting grade 12 on tuesday)

I gotta say my favourite series would have to be the Tom Clancy Op Center series. For those of you that never heard of them, it's about a center that deals with problems like terrorist and stuff that is a major problem. The thing that I like about this is the fact that the stuff in the books could actually happen and that there's probably a center that deals with them like in the books.

To what Apathy said, seens how you posted a min before me... Do you know when when or if they are releasing the next Vampire Earth book? I can't remember the last one I got but I believe I have 7.

Not sure when they are releasing a new one, I just picked up the latest one I think. It was in hard cover just a little while ago. They do have a website, so you can check it out there.

GRRM is working on the series. He is involved in the casting process, (he doesn't have, or want a final say on any character, but he screens auditions by the dozen and gives his opinion to the producers) and he did write the script for 1 episode in season 1. (1 only because he is still working really hard on finishing A Dance With Dragons, book #5)

As far as my reading right now goes... I have 20 pages in between me and the end of Knife of Dreams by Robert Jordan. I'll finish it as soon as I close my laptop and I'm excited about starting The Gathering Storm tonight.
