An Odd Armchair's High Five

This isn't all the stuff I like, nor my favourites necessarily, but some good music nevertheless

It's Late - Queen
As everyone knows, I am a huge Queen fan. This, in my mind, is one of their best songs.

Communication Breakdown - Led Zeppelin
EDIT: For those that have trouble accessing the first link
As a big Led Zep fan too, I love this song for it's awesome solo, and its overall sound.

Paradise City - Guns N' Roses
Another epic solo, I just love the entire song, always puts me in an awesome mood.

Travelin' Band - Creedence Clearwater Revival
EDIT: For those that like a bit better quality
CCR has such a great sound, very swamprock, and this is one of their faster songs, really good all around.

Tobacco Island - Flogging Molly
I have gotten into some Celtic Punk, and Flogging Molly really has some good stuff. I like this song for the nice violin and banjo parts especially, and a pretty sweet chorus, and "there's nothing like a good song written 'bout a bad bastard"

There's the whole thing. Sorry to bother :D

It’s Late – Queen
I love it when people put in some Queen cos I always find songs I haven’t heard before and it makes me listen to queen for the rest of the day

Communication Breakdown – Led Zeppelin
Cant really go wrong with Led Zeppelin, they’re brilliant end of!

Paradise City – Guns ‘N’ Roses
I love the intro to this, Slash’s guitar work is just legendary. They are one of the bands that I would have loved to see live before he left. Also they have Axel Rose - one of the few famous ginger people ::lol::

Travelin’ Band – Creedence Clearwater Revival
I like listening to CCR when im chillin out, its non offensive on the ears and has a pleasant old school sound to it but then you can also turn up the volume and it suddenly becomes livelier

Tobacco Island – Flogging Molly
I’m loving this band with thier great speed and banjo - i agree Armchair, the banjo is immensely cool it just adds a new depth to music. I also like the fact that its describes as Celtic Punk, never knew there was such a genre :?. Ive had to go out and buy some of their music from this song.

PS: Sorry for the delay in posting Armchair <3
Oh and u’ve got the spirit of music club ::kar::- Tell your friends

Great choices!

It's Late - Queen
Never heard that Queen song before, I certainly will again. Loved the drumming!

Communication Breakdown - Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin will always be awesome, period.

Paradise City - Guns 'n' Roses
GnR almost made it into my High Five (Sweet Child of Mine), but just got edged out.

Travelin’ Band – Creedence Clearwater Revival
I really should listen to more CCR. I always liked them, never got any of their stuff though, so much great music, so little money :(.

Tobacco Island – Flogging Moll
Whoa! Now THAT's different! Really enjoyed listening to this, I grew up with Irish folk dancing sort of music, this makes a great bridge between my normal and more.... eccentric tastes.

Epical sig by Haut Medoc. Dan, is the man!

Is it odd that when I read the High five part of these threads, I tend to instinctively high five the screen?

Lovin' the Queen, the GnR is one of my favs as well, and that is quite possibly my favorite CCR song ever. I used to have in on cassette tape (for all you younging, that's this thing that you had to rewind/fast-forward and guess at where each song started and ended, or just let it play start to finish and flip it over to hear the other half of the songs on it) and we'd go through the trouble of rewinding that song for hours just to hear it non-stop.

Don't know quite what to think of the Flogging Molly song (since I only understood about half of the lyrics first time through if that) and the Led Zepplin is not one of my favorites of theirs, but still a good one. I definitely prefer Kashmir to that one

All around good picks, glad to see some more classic rock making it into the mix ::thumbs::

Communication Breakdown – Led Zeppelin

unlike a lot of rock of its era it has a real melody behind the awesome riffs

Paradise City – Guns ‘N’ Roses
Great tune classic! Guitars drumming vocal style awesome!

Travelin’ Band – Creedence Clearwater Revival
Im trying to get my band to play stuff like this yet again great riffs and vocal stylings

Tobacco Island – Flogging Molly
Used to listen to these guys in a club called Corporation where everything is black and sticky.
ive always thought of it as pirate music love punk when you can hear the lyrics(you'll have to spend some time in ireland jedi) and the instuments are played rather than pummeled, great choice brings back memories

another cracking selection and kudos to Jammy and Jedi for their contributions.

I really liked your High Five, Armchair. I'd never heard that Queen song before, and the Flogging Molly song was interesting, but overall I enjoyed it.

I like the GnR song as well as the Flogging Molly, but the Queen song isn't really my style, but thanks for exposing me to some new stuff! ::bump::

Awww shucks, thanks guys... ::wheel::

Music was a huge part of my life for so long, I can't go without it now. To hear new and old music, even if it's stuff I don't like, is almost as important to me as getting game-time in with my good friends here ::thumbs::

A day without some sort of music in it is a day that could have been a helluvalot better than it was.
