Ok, so me and Haut are huge fans of Scotch whisky. There are so many to choose from that we need to keep track of what weve had and give all those who have similar interests a review so they can spend their money on the whisky that will suite them.

We have already had a wide variety of scotch but are willing to drink them again for the benefit of reviewing them for all you guys. Its a hard job but we are willing to do it.

To start this off we are going to try to satisfy the American palate as they are a majority of the readers. Therefore the first review will be one of the highly suggested whiskies of America, Sazerac

If your new to whisky this probably isnt the one for you as its best to start with something light like Benromach (scotch) then move onto Islay whiskies before advancing to the Rye Whiskies.

So the nose (posh word for smell) gives way to maple syrup with hints of menthol. For those that don't want to smell it you get initial tastes of pepper and oak with a slight apple flavour. You then get continued notes of pepper and fruit with ending flavours of molasses

Cognac and peppery is all i got nice though for a change!

As an after note there is also a cocktail called the Sazerac Cocktail which is created from this Rye Whisky which we have had but didnt review ::FP:: but we will endeavor to have it again and post it for you on the cocktail thread.

It must be good when it comes in 3 litre bottles, You know like all other decent whiskies :D. But for the purpose of research im gonna have to keep my eye open for a bottle.

Is it recommended to drink it with coke then?

Bushmills Original

Bushmills Original

reviewed by Josh and Myself

This is a fruity easy to drink vanilla tasting whisky from Ireland. Its a good beginners whisky that has a clean clear character with a vanilla nose.

I got the vanilla, it a balanced flavour, its the first proper whisky i drank, Thanks Mrs Brown!

Hehehehe. Somehow these quasi-intellectual whiskey reviews remind me of those parts in American Psycho (the novel) where in between the violence Patrick Bateman discusses/reviews Whitney Houston, Huey Lewis and the News and Phil Collins's careers in great detail.

Don't know why this reminds me of that tho.

Anyways, would it seem barbarian if I recommended Jim Beam White Label? It's not as... sophisticated (read: obscure) as some of the ones that have been mentioned here but at least I have drunk more than enough of it to be sure it is a good whiskey for solid drinking when you have had enough beer.

Give it a try. It's cheap!

Not the usual reason i buy whisky but if you recommend it i will add it to my tasting list.

1st job - find some more money. Can anybody ::help::?

Maybe Haut and I could start a whisky fund. If anyone is interested we accept paypal, cash and/or cheques (as long as they aint bouncy bouncy)

Or better yet Handsome (see what i did there), as a man whose had many mouthfulls of JIm Beam white label - Give us a review
