On my way to test out new and bizarre pizza crusts today... I've got my white and whole wheat down and am going to test out a chocolate crust and a rosemary crust. I'll hopefully be posting the results of today's experiments. Any weird pizza crust flavors come to mind? I'll try anything that might be possible and might be incredible.

While we're at it - how about alternative pizza toppings? My favorite is currently refried beans (instead of pizza sauce), moz & cheddar cheese, olives, and green onions.

I just read all that and am now immediately hungry again! And its only an hour after lunch!

A lot of that sounds really good though! One thing that I like is white pizza sauce. I will have to figure out what it is exactly, but my friend is allergic to tomatoes, so we can't get normal pizza sauce, but still, the replacement is pretty good! Will find out and edit!

Steak and potatoes pizza is pretty good. Although not that uncommon, white pizza is really good, although I'm not exactly sure whats on it.

Exactly how do you make flavored pizza crusts? Like wouldn't the chocolate melt and burn in the oven? If not I guess you could try doing a stuffed crust pizza with lots of different stuff...mmmm....bacon stuffed crust?

like with cookies or chocolate cake, these never work

Started making a white sauce last night! I start with a thick bechamel and add roasted garlic.

Probably some extra virgin olive oil, maybe a little roasted garlic, moz & parm. Yum.

I suggested a crust with some citrus flavors, and also a chili pizza via Skype earlier. awaiting official reviews of those as well. :p

Sorry about the wait, been too busy eating pizzas.... Here's the rest of the story -


Sooo... they've all been completely bomb-diggity so far Mixing in flavors turned out REALLY well.... I was hoping at least one would be awesome, but they all have amazing potential.
We tried MANY combos so I'll just mention the stand-outs (Pictures are weird, I'm sorry. But trust me, they're delicious)...

Lemon pizza crust with mango ginger habenero sauce, mozzarella, pan-fried cod, and carmelized onion - fabulously citrusy, sweet, and salty. Duce thought of the citrus crust since the mango sauce is so awesome and Brick thought of adding white fish since fish & lemon go so well together - it was perfect.


Then I made the same pizza except with tomato sauce. Completely different - kind of like a tomato based fish stew. Lovely for completely different reasons.


The lemon rosemary crusts and rosemary crusts were both incredible with a garlic white sauce and fresh mozzarella.... Creamy and heavenly.


Chili crust - totally different and still a huge hit. All the spices are in the crust, so I just topped it with some plain tomato sauce, black & kidney beans, and mozzarella cheese. It litterally tastes like you're eating chili Smokey, deep flavors ftw.

We were too full to even consider trying the Mexican spice or chocolate.... so that's for tonight! Next up, I'll definitely be attempting something spicy per Laffy's smiley suggestion

I vaguely remember having a soft pretzel pizza crust at some point in my childhood and thoroughly enjoying it. Just thought I'd throw that out there

Just tomato sauce, pepperonis, and mozzarella cheese for me, though

And you should give this weirdness a try. Just sayin.

Those pizzas look amazing, if i make pizza it tends to be a real feast of toppings as i cant decide what to leave off but i might try some of these ideas. Nice one OpIvy
