help finding a song

Mon Jun 21, 2010 2:28 am

I used to hear this ALL the time on a 3rd shift radio station. They problem with this radio station, is they will play ANYTHING. You might get a Alan Jackson followed by Marilyn Manson.

Its a 80's - 00's alternative sounding song (i'm betting 90's). The song has a female singer. Think Cranberries, Elastica, Breeders. Its not a really loud song. Most of the verses are sung kinda softly until near the chorus she gets a little louder and sounds kinda 'angsty'. I could never make out any of the lyrics to the verses. But the chorus has her going....

ooooh hoooo! (pause) ooooh hooo! (pause) ooooh hooo! (pause) WOOO HOOO!

sings that a few times and then there is a little slow guitar riff with no vocals, then return to verses

its DEFINITELY not that lol...not a poppy or happy song

singer sounds like she just broke up with dude or somethin (not that i could make out the lyrics)

most of song is quiet and brooding and then she kinda gets pumped up and lil angry sounding towards chorus

its slow angsty, grungy 90's feel

Hmm the only thing I can think off off hand with that little of an amount of info wheels would be concrete blonde... Kind of a grudgy gothicy band of the early- mid 90's if I recall with a female vocalist that sounds like she misses her donkey puncher... Maybe their song Joey? I don't recall well enough their songs anymore but it's something to listen to I suppose

if you can get a line or two of the lyrics, then google it in quotes and you should get all the pages with the lyrics to the song, thus the name of the song.

Yea i could never make out ANY of the lyrics other than the 'ooh hoo' part. And i haven't heard the song in like 4-5 years now lol. I've found ALL the old songs that i wanted by using lyrics google search. This one eludes me.
