I have Halo 4 pre-ordered, but I recently downgraded from the LE to the standard.

Personally, I'd prefer to save my legendary run for my second playthrough. I think Heroic is the sweet spot for enjoying the plot, graphics, etc. while still challenging yourself. I agree 100%. I always do a solo Heroic run to take it all in, then I open it up to co-op. For me, co-op is fun but now...

I have no problems streaming mp3-format music from my PC to my Xbox while I play games. You might try using the blades/guide instead.
